Relay protection of AC traction power supply networks

The theory, organization and methods of calculation of short-circuit protection systems of 1x25 kV and 2x25 kV electric traction networks with autotransformers, DPR lines, longitudinal power supply and overhead lines of railways are described. The power supply schemes and properties that the protection should have, taking into account the features of traction power supply systems, are considered. Refined methods for calculating the parameters of normal and emergency modes, and selecting protection settings in the inter-substation zone are given. Modern protection kits and microprocessor terminals are described in detail. The textbook is intended for students of railway universities.
